Background:
St Margaret's draws most of its intake from the villages of Stoke Golding, Dadlington and Upton. The history of the school can be traced back to 1678 when a free grammar school was established for the boys of the village. The school is now accommodated in a 'modern single storey building situated in attractive grounds. At present, it offers extra-curricular activities in football, netball, choir, games skills, cross country, hockey and guitar. Many pupils also take peripatetic music lessons in percussion, flute and clarinent. The school has links with the local parish church which go back several centuries and children attend services in the church. They also take part in a variety of local events and raise money for charities. The school's mission statement is 'progress through partnership'.
