Background:
Henley in Arden High School was established in 1958 as a non-selective school, in an area served by three grammar schools. Henley High is a growing and successful school. The facilities are good, with a library and impressive computer areas. The school has a fine hall, a gymnasium and extensive, attractive playing fields, four science laboratories and five design/technology rooms. The music studio is an architectural and acoustic pleasure, and both art and drama have specialist areas. The school draws students from a semi-rural area, although it does attract pupils from further field including Hall Green in Birmingham. Achievements at GCSE are above the national average. There is a residential programme, which spans all years. The school has a wide range of informal activities in workshops, studios, the library, the careers room and other areas in addition to lunchtime sport. The school'sets out to obtain the highest standards of attainment and achievement possible for all its students.
