Background:
Founded in the 19th century, the school moved to its present spacious site in 1975, where it is housed in modern buildings. Chess, computer club, wildlife club and French all feature in the wide range of extra curricular activities in addition to sport, in which the school competes locally and nationally with success. Music is another of the school's strengths and many children take instrumental lessons. As a church school, St Peters maintains strong links with the local church and the loca community. The parents organisation gives the school important support and many parents are involved in helping in school. St Peters fully implements the SEN code of practice and has a designated co-ordinator for SEN and individual education programmes supported by specialist assessments are available where appropriate.
